Introduction
Home is the place where everyone should experience the utmost comfort. One of the genuine concerns in our large cities is the construction of high-rise buildings without proper consideration for privacy. This project aims to provide 75 affordable housing flats specifically for the staff of Tehran University of Arts. Our goal is to offer a comfortable and accessible living environment that fosters a sense of community and well-being among the residents.
Proposition
The core of the design was guided by addressing the following questions:
-
What is the optimal view for the bedrooms to ensure a captivating and stimulating environment for the occupants?
-
How can the buildings' shapes be arranged in relation to each other to prevent shadows from causing discomfort for other flats?
-
What is the most favourable orientation for the flats to maximise sunlight exposure and harness its benefits?
-
How can the design foster a sense of community and encourage active engagement and interaction among the residents?
-
How can traffic flow be redirected to create a pleasant and serene space within the community?
By addressing these fundamental questions, the design aimed to create a living environment that promotes a sense of well-being, aesthetics, and social cohesion.

Spatial Coordination
The space between the two facing blocks serves as a semi-private area, free from vehicle access. It is meticulously designed to ensure the safety and convenience of children and residents for walking and commuting. The distance between the buildings is carefully considered, providing ample separation to prevent undesirable shadows from impacting the area.
